Yellow is a Stimulating color. Our eyes quickly recognize the color yellow because it is over powering. The soft fluid shape of a calla lily easy translates to a more dynamic and fierce feeling when visible in yellow.

The combination of the duckling’s soft texture and color creates a natural feeling of warmness.

Leonardo da Vinci once wrote that yellow represented the earth.

Around the 18th century yellow roses were found growing in parts of the Middle East. Its popularity spread rapidly because until there discover roses were found only in red and pink tones. Today, yellow roses are given as a sign of friendship and appreciation.

In China yellow is a symbol of honor and royalty. It was the color of the emperors during the Ming and Quing dynasty.

Noticing a unique image like this spiral sunflower will stay fresh in our memory mainly due to the fact that the color yellow activates our memory.

Buddhist monks and nuns wear yellow robes as a constant reminder of the importance of not clinging and the practice of letting go.

The value of this yellow home is precious and charming. It is moving because this particular hue will look amazing in any form or against any person’s skin tone due to its richness.

Dexter’s Kin

Dexter’s Kin is an alternative rock/pop band based in New York City. The band was formed and named by vocalist Paul Benedict; he was inspired to name the band after is his late brother. Other members of the band include: Bryan Christopher on Guitar, Gisel Costa on Keys, Andrew Lynch on Bass, and Jason Juliette on Drums. The Beatles, Radiohead and Muse are just some of Dexter’s Kin musical influences. The band describes their musical style as rock and roll from the past incorporated with contemporary melodic riffs. Recently Dexter’s Kin received a lot of buzz from their self-released EP album “Metamorphose.” Pelle Moeld of SR radio said “A hit song can hide where you least expect it.” Which can be said about a lot of goods things in life, something incredible happens when you least expect it!

In a previous blog post, we discovered inspiration from the color blue and the purity and peace it exudes. Color surrounds us and becomes a recurring theme, as we can find beauty and meaning in them all. Sometimes, we were a bit apprehensive to use such a striking color, but red is too powerful to ignore.
